As all the people that watch the mabi forums/play in Mabi KR/watch these forums know in the next update for Mabi KR they will be getting the Uladh revamp.
A part of that revamp is the robe of destruction that boasts a set effect that gives +3 piercing.
(Damage - Defense) * (100 - Damage Reduction from Protection) / 100 <-- The formula for Mabi damage
Lets Look at the PvP aspect
+3 piercing equals -20 defense -15 Prot against an enemy
Defense will be ignored in this part because -1 defense translates to literal +1 damage.
Now for a standard player that uses RK armor on a Human/Elf they have an average of 40 Prot.
40 Prot equals 41% damage reduction. If an enemy player uses just that set without any more pierce your defenses are lowered by -15 Prot meaning you drop down to 25 protection, which is 31% damage reduction that equals a 10% increase in possible damage against you in PvP. Now depending on how one sees it that is very beneficial but you have to keep in mind that wearing that set you are giving up a possible 8 defense and 4 Prot if not even more so you are making yourself vulnerable to damage aswell.
Now what if you combine that piercing with a decked out non lance piercing weapon, for example a Fanatic Greatsword has an innate +1 piercing level which can be extended to piercing +4 with the 67th floor enchant meaning that using it+the set takes you to +7 piercing level which equals -60 def -35 Prot against the enemy. now on the average a player that has 40 Prot is screwed with that. It would bring your damage reduction from 41% to 9% increasing the possible damage output to you by 32%. which is a fatal increase in most cases. The only players relatively unaffected by this set are players with at least over 55 Prot at all times, meaning they will never drop below 34% damage reduction. Making this set not exactly the most amazing thing against veteran or very well equipped players. Especially since people that use the Kirito Secondary Title gain a 3% damage reduction that can not be ignored. Giants are op in tankyness so no need to even talk about that. However there is one important aspect of the Prot reduction that's a problem for any player. Every point of reduction adds a 2% decrease of the enemies crit hit chance against you. meaning 40 Prot equals a 80% decrease of the enemies crit hit chance which gets lowered considerably, meaning that most players will then get a full 30% crit chance on you instead of a possible lowered one. but that is usually pretty irrelevant against high level players because they usually have over 110% crit hit chance giving them a full 30% chance to crit in most duels.
Now Lets Look at the PvE aspect
This means that weapons that are not lances are very viable in Raids like Black/White Dragon and Girgashiy now giving things like FH/Bash Spam/Smash. Also potentially making fighter a lot stronger with additional pierce.
Additional Notes
Personal opinion on the matter is. The set is worth in PvE and not worth in PvP, because using it would mean already losing out on enchants+defenses that are super useful in actually countering it so by using it although i MIGHT do more damage i will take EVEN more damage than usual. In PvE however where nothing pierces my defenses anyway the amounts of defense/prot i lose by not wearing armored gloves/boots/helmets doesn't help anyway in Raids so the extra damage is welcome.
If anyone wants to run their own calculations~
(Damage - Defense) * (100 - Damage Reduction from Protection) / 100 <-- The formula for Mabi damage
If there are any questions or something i said here is unclear lemme know and ill try my best to answer that.
