"Detectives Are Advocates For The Dead. We Dig Up Those Things That Were Lost To The Grave, And The Things That Hurt The Living To Defend The Honor Of The Dead. And We Humiliate The Dead. We Do This To Comfort The Living."
- Alice
Are There Any Drama/Detective Fans Out There? Well, Here's One To You.
This Story Takes Place In Tokyo And Revolves Around Narumi Fujishima, A High School Student Who Is So Uninvolved In His School Life That He Knows None Of His Classmate's Names And Is The Only Member In The Computer Club. This Changes One Day When He Is Pulled Into Joining The Gardening Club By Ayaka Shinozaki, One Of His Classmates And The Only One To Really Acknowledge Him. Threw His Time With Ayaka, He Has Also Become Involved With A Group Known As The "NEET Detective Agency". Alice, The Head of The NEET Detective Agency, A Genius Hacker Who Also Happens To Be An Extreme Shut-In Who Seems To Live On No More Then Generic Dr Pepper "DoKupe" And Leek Ramen (Minus The Noodles, Egg, Meat, And Anything Else That Makes Ramen, Ramen) ((Quite The Resume, Eh?)) Looks To Narumi As Her Errand Boy And Soda Fetcher. The Members Take Pride In Being NEETs ("NEET" - Not in Education, Employment, or Training) And Are Generally An Honest And Tight Knit Group. Together With This Group, Narumi Helps Them Solve Mysterious Cases From Missing People, Murders, Even Drug Trafficking.
It Was Pretty Hard To Rate This Anime. The Story Is Pretty Well Done And The Characters Are Intriguing, To Me Anyway. I Have Heard Both Really Good And Really Harsh Reviews About This Anime, So I'm Just Going To Trash Them And Say My Part. I Honestly Liked This Anime. It Wasn't Quite What I Was Expecting, But that Isn't A Bad Thing. I Was Expecting More "Detective Conan" Meets "Cowboy Bebop", However, That Is Not What I Got, And For That, I'm Thankful. There is No Supernatural Elements, Excessive Action, Over-The-Top Fiction, Or Anything Like That If It's What Your Expecting. This Story Is Just As I Said At The Opening Of This Review, A Drama/Detective Anime. Sure, There Is A Bit Of Humor Thrown In, But It Is Hardly Uncalled For. Alice Can Be Very Cute And "Moe" At Times While Being Mysterious And Almost Sagely At Others, And The Other Members of The Agency (A Charmer Gigolo, A Military Nut Otaku, And An Ex-Boxer Gambling Addict) Can Also Add To The Humor And/Or Drama As Needed. Narumi Himself, In My Opinion, Is Hardly More Then Your Typical Anime Teen Main Character Type. He Starts Off As Totally Clueless And Stumbles On His Way To Becoming That Person Everyone's Looking To.
All In All, I Give This Anime A Rough 7/10
