May 2016 Update This thread is still being viewed for some reason even though Mabinogi fully works with Windows 10 now.. but if you're still having problems with getting Mabinogi to start, please see the suggestions in this thread! January 2016 Update Mabinogi has fixed several of its problems relating to Nexon GameGuard and should be working again! ~~(But we still have crashes on Boss Cutscenes and Mailbox.. )~~ Tip: Avoid Mailbox crashing by clicking the Quit button in the dialogue box instead of closing the Mailbox interface. Fixed in an update. If you are still having trouble, feel free to reply to this thread! October 2015 Update Several members have reported being able to launch Mabinogi without any workaround using the new Nexon Launcher! USE NEXON LAUNCHER VERSION OF MABINOGI The old version on Mabinogi uses a version of Hackshield that isn't compatible with Windows 10. Here's how to convert your Steam version of Mabinogi to the Nexon Launcher Version: 1. Make the following folder structure 'C:\Nexon\Library\mabinogi\appdata' 2. Drag and drop everything in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mabinogi' into the 'C:\Nexon\Library\mabinogi\appdata' directory. 3. DELETE THE HSHIELD FOLDER (So it can be replaced with the new version) 4. Download the new Nexon Launcher by clicking "Play Now" on the Mabinogi website. (No need to sign in) 5. Update Mabinogi through the Nexon Launcher. Troubleshooting: If Mabinogi does not start, restart your computer to clear out all instances of Mabinogi running and be sure you have deleted the HShield folder so it can be overwritten with the new version. February 2016 Update: Silverace17 has reported that creating a local user account on your computer and starting up Mabinogi there may serve as a workaround! Use the Nexon Launcher version to experience Mabinogi without any workaround! If you are still having trouble getting it to work, please let me know and we could set up a remote desktop session!

To resolve this, follow the instructions carefully in the first post above (including that being said in red text). If you are using the Nexon Launcher, try deleting the HShield folder in C:\Nexon\Library\mabinogi\appdata and then relaunching the Nexon Launcher then update Mabinogi again to get new HShield files. (The old version of Hackshield was interfering with Windows 10 security measures and is not compatible with Windows 10) If you are using the Nexon Launcher version of Mabinogi and you're still having problems, send me a PM and I can do a remote desktop session with you via Teamviewer.
