We need to make more events, things are getting dull since kohanestu left. we need to step up our game (get it? Game? I'll go to the corner now) i am maybe an regular member, but we are a guild now and we should act as one
if we have trouble, we can talk this out into making our event. If there is any trouble, we can ask one another for advice

I can't speak for the current staff, but from my former experience in the staff, the problem is often a lack of ideas or inability to completely host an event (not enough people, etc.). If you would like to see more events in the guild, then I suggest you approach the staff with either an event idea or volunteer to help them out with hosting one. It can actually be a lot of fun, and I'm sure the staff would appreciate the help.

We do have a few events in mind (including repeats of favorite events from yesteryear) but we are shorthanded in terms of hosting and beta testing. We are looking for people who are dedicated to doing guild events, hosting and testing. If you are interested or know of anyone who is, please let me or Drakkion know!

Alright, I'll join the beta testing, keep in mind that beta testing requires Lot of time, so I am only available for the weekend. I'll do the hosting of the event if possible, I'll spread the word for the event.
Message me if you want to share the idea and set up for the event.

but we are a guild now and we should act as one I'd just like to point out that most guilds don't even have an administrative structure, let alone host events.keep in mind that beta testing requires Lot of time And the answer reveals itself. I think it should be safe to assume that the staff members are also people with lives.
Not that I want to sound like I'm attacking you, and it may not even be my right to say so, but I just think a lot of work tends to go unnoticed.

As a former staff member of this guild, I'd like to give my input/feedback and share my experiences on this too.
The main problem with guild events have been mostly lack of participants and the staff's lack of time. We did have very successful events for a while (referring to winter break event marathon 2014-2015). Reason of success was: the staff was well-established, communication was easy and everyone had time to organize things... and guildies were genuinely interested.
It slowly just became harder as most of the staff got busy with RL, and therefore were unable to put as much efforts into it. Hosting events also started to demand more and more efforts. This is mostly due to the lack of participants, the lack of interests in guildies. Guildies became less and less active and people got less and less integrated with the guild itself; it was hard to keep everyone notified and remembered of an event. Forum activity decreased and thus spreading the news through in-game methods became the only thing to reach guildies with. And that - itself - demands a lot more attention. Not everyone will remember there's a guild event on for example next week Wednesday. People forget and won't show up, unless you notify them on short term again.
The guild is also far less structured as I remember. The staff is very minimal, and there have been communication troubles for what I remember even when I was still in the guild. I'm not sure if that's still the case though. The "threshold" of speaking up has elevated. There's also that we used to help each other with hosting and thinking a lot (underling in the staff). Staff got busy and staff members started to get diverse in what they individually wanted to focus on in the guild, which made things even harder. For a single person to take on the whole process of creating a guild event is just too much.
Hosting and thinking of an event really takes a lot of time and efforts. Alst staff has always been more of a "behind the scenes"-job. Just like Grey pointed out, a lot of efforts behind the scenes go unnoticed, and it's true experiencing the staff thing myself. There were times I thought it was unappreciated as well; there were several events that some people thought went very bad or biased or w/e... and who gets the scolding? Thinking about an idea itself, the beta-testing, the organization of the event itself, the thinking of loopholes, the approval of b0ss, the creating time by us for hosting it, the finding a good time for everyone to participate, the thinking of prices, the hosting itself, the after-work of feedback. I think a lot of guildies don't notice this, but being a staff member (in my times) took a lot of energy and time. The staff is really doing their best for you guys.
But I can't blame anyone for not knowing. Alst has ALWAYS worked like that; no publicity on the amount of effort they actually put in it and keeping a low profile.
Please don't underestimate it. Hosting a guild event, that is.

Actually anyone can host events and the prizes/ideas don't have to be crazy extravagant either. For example, I hosted an event that gave out 700k in prizes and simply used the built-in fashion contest. Shadura also hosted screenshot events a long time ago and neither of us ever served as officer. A lot of people get hung up over the structure of a guild but honestly every member is equally important no matter what their position is in the guild. Rather than a small group of staff it is the action of /every/ guild member that determines what we are. Not to offend any of our staff. After all they are putting in the most work. @ bigkearogI find boredom to be the best motivation to host events. I'm sure you would be a great help.

I am well aware of everyone in the guild have their own lives. I do not expect people to have loads of free time to do so. I am just pointing out the current situation at hand. Everyone, YOU DON'T HAVE TO CREATE A FANCY EVENT LIKE TOWER DEFENSE (iZU'S IDEA) you can just create a simple event like lazypen's "Punmania" (Kohane, PLEASE DON'T TELL MY PUN TO THE ENTIRE GUILD, MY REPUTATION IS AT THE LINE ;- I would like to thanks the officer and staff for helping out previous event in the past, even though i wasn't there most of the time...
