For skills such as refine, failures will help the skill training go up much faster. Sometimes, you may have too much dex and that causes failure to be very rare, which makes the skill hard to train because you have too much dex. A way you can use to reduce dex is by titles, enchants, and personas. But I like to include Heavy Armor Mastery as a newer way to reduce dex. If you're a human, you can reduce your dex by a large portion by just equipping heavy armor and having rE+ HAM. The same can be applied to giants and elves but it's not as effective on giants as it is on elves & humans. Anyways, I hope this tip helps you out if you're having dex issues while training a life skill Good luck training your life skills ~ Kouta Ryu Addition: Cerpe also suggested using the skill Catering to reduce dex for life skill training.

Great tip Kouta. I would like to add that catering is a great way to reduce dex nowadays as well That's also a good way to reduce dex too but having rE heavy armor mastery is much easier to reduce dex since you can simply just equip heavy armor while for catering, you need to cook the foods first. But they both are good ways to reduce dex. I'll add catering as a tip to reduce dex as well.

This is partially incorrect. As far as I know, "Refining" no longer needs failures. You train it faster by also failing, but no longer do you actually NEED failures to rank it.
Plz change for all the people who still doesn't know qq :c

It is true that you dont NEED failures, but it's waaaaaay easier with failures. I had to rank it to R1 not too long ago.
Id rather fail 5 mythril ingot refines (= 25 mythril ores) , than successfully make 60 iron ingots (= 300 iron ingot ores)
I used Heavy Armor Mastery on rE as well + double skill potion (received from the treasure event) + buttterfingers title Then used a skill reset capsule from the advanced play to derank HAM to rF again.

For skills such as refine, you're >required< to fail in order to get the training to rank the skill itself. Which is not true owo. I'm simply asking politely for him to change it to be more correct. This is the same as saying you need to buy materials for production skills. It might be EASIER and FASTER, but it's not REQUIRED to rank those skills. I just don't like false information being spread around c: Sorry If I sound really mean and all, I really don't want people to be misinformed though... Some person back in EU told me that the only source of heat for the cooking skill was the "cooking oven" you could find in towns. It wasn't until when I was at a campfire with some friends, and I told them I were going to the nearest cooking oven, that they told me I could just use our campfire for cooking. I felt really dumb because back then, you didn't get free mounts, so I've wasted several hours total on just walking over to cooking ovens to make food... So horrible qq
