As much as I like casually developing on my derp games, I feel like there is too little attention to that section.
There's only so much fun to be had developing all alone.
So why not create an event ^(owo)^?
We will all be making a game for private use in the guild, and the game judged to be the better one will win!
To make this easier, only simple (Rpg, platformer, topdown shooter, whatever you think of) will be allowed.
The judges (Staff members) will be judging the games basic systems, meaning that even if your game plays well by itself, there will still be given attention to mechanical systems. This includes consistency and other forms of unfitting systems.
These are the general "Orly?" rules. (Written as an informative post)
1. It must atleast be a demo.
While prototypes and such might be fine for a development phase, this will have to be a demo-like experience atleast.
If you're unable to provide any means of progression, try harder! We accept all submissions as long as they are of an acceptable length.
2. You may only submit one game.
Making a single game is hard enough, so if you can make 2, you could've improved the first game instead.
Having multiple games wouldn't increase you chances, since the end results would not be as polished.
Please understand that we want you to make the game for fun, not just to win.
3. It must include an instructions file.
While in-game tutorials are nice looking and professional, it's not needed.
We want you to work on the core game itself, and not spend any time on commonly over-looked features.
If your game absolutely needs an in-game tutorial, it is probably not suited for this kind of contest.
4. It must be made during the event period.
Altough your awesome game you've been working on for many years would server great for a contest (Looking at you, Rui >:c)
We must keep it fair, and only games made during the event will be allowed. Please do not submit re-creations of other projects, as they will count as direct sequels. (Everybody should have the same amount of time to make their game and the world you play in!)
5. Have fun!
We want you to have as much fun as possible, and we hope everybody playing the games you'll be making will be having fun too!
(Also, please try not to add any NSFW (Not Safe For Work) graphical content in the games. Strong language must only be used in the case that such a word is needed. We don't want a game with overuse of cursing such as "Stfu u bish I gon rape yo motha then yo dad then kill them gurl!". Also do not break the guild policy in any way that it hurts other people purposely such as "Hey chocolate, gtf away from this place, fo white people only BISH!")
Thanks for reading all of this.
Heres a cookie: ^(owo)^!
Note: This is an event SUGGESTION. Don't mistake it for anything else. (Yes, I actually had people question this in another guild)
